Send us your dog

Every week we feature a follower's dog on the Dogs Explained page as Dog of the Week. Send a photo or a short clip and tell us a bit about them.

Pick your best photo: your dog in good light, sharp, ideally at their eye level. Landscape or portrait both work.
Tell us their name, breed (or best guess) and a line about them.
We pick one each week and credit you by name on the post.

Your photo or clip A photo (JPG, PNG or HEIC, up to 15 MB) or a short video you filmed yourself, like zoomies, a trick or a funny habit (MP4 or MOV, up to 20 MB, about 30 seconds). Clips can be featured in our weekly Your Dog Friday Reel. Name to credit How you'd like to be named on the post. Your dog Name and breed, e.g. Bella, Golden Retriever (or best guess) Where you're based Optional. City or country is plenty. A line about it Optional, up to 300 characters. Facebook or Instagram name Optional, so we can tag you. Email Optional, only to reach you about your photo. Never shown or shared. I took this photo or video, or I have the right to share it, and anyone clearly shown in it is OK with it being posted. I give Dogs Explained permission to post it on its Facebook page, Instagram and dogsexplained.com (for videos, with our own commentary, captions and trimming), with credit to the name above. I can ask for it to be taken down at any time by messaging the page.
